Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Our Sages taught, A child who knows how to shake the lulav should do so; if they know how to wear a tallit, they should do it. —B. Talmud Sukkah 42b

Bar & Bar Mitzvah is a beautiful ceremony recognizing that God and the community take a child more seriously than ever before.  But the magic isn’t a state of being— it is a process of learning by which the child recognizes their own maturity, value, and ability as a participating Jew. 

Our students study with our B’nai Mitzvah tutor, Sarah Greenblatt, and our clergy to lead, chant, and teach our congregation with their emerging, authentic Jewish voice.
